“Inspections of wind turbines and blades”
Eolic energy is one of the greenest and most promising energy sources in recent times. However, the increasing number of failures suffered by wind power poles makes this ecological chain stagger.
Rotors are exposed to high speeds, sometimes unexpected, with consequent damage to bonding or delamination. A regular maintenance is then needed in order to detect any possible failure as early as possible and in order to fix them before they get to the critical stage. DES develops predictive maintenance systems with non-destructive methods in order to avoid disastrous failures, using the remote structure control with thermographic methods.
